Job description

Summary

Performs intake functions pertaining to the documentation of patient medical history. Conducts assessment interviews using virtual technology and inputs data into medical record software such as EPIC Admission Navigator. Collaborates with bedside RNs to acquire and document data and develop plan of care. Coordinates and provides care utilizing the critical thinking framework known as the nursing process. The nursing process forms the foundation of the nurse's decision making to help partner with patients/families to attain, maintain and restore health whenever possible. Blends caring, compassion, knowledge and integrity to provide safe quality care that preserves patient autonomy, dignity and rights.


Responsibilities

  • THE FOLLOWING ARE ALL ACCOMPLISHED IN AN ONSIGHT VIRTUAL SETTING USING TECHNOLOGY:
    • Collaborates with bedside RN to assess patients and document patient medical history.
    • Assists in developing the plan of care.
    • Assist in documenting the care plan.
    • Collaborates with bedside RN to provide patient, family, and/or significant other health teaching/education.
    • Participates in activities designed to improve health care delivery.
    • Communicates/collaborates with others in providing patient care.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality while always following HIPAA guidelines.
    • Provides clinical leadership.
    • Supports lifelong learning.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Experience

Preferred:  2 years of RN experience (inpatient-med-surg-preferred)

Minimum: 1 year of RN experience

Licensure, Registration, Certification

Minimum: RN; BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE

Special Skills

Preferred:   

  1.  Familiarity with EPIC
  2.  Ability to communicate in English and a second language desired
 

Minimum:  Computer Literacy
