Job description

Title: MRI Technologist - Contract
Location: Anchorage, AK
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 4x10 Variable Shift
Weekend Requirement: Variable / may be more frequent based on staffing needs
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join a high-acuity acute care hospital environment. The role involves performing MRI imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, high-quality diagnostic imaging, and compliance with hospital protocols. The unit follows a co-care model involving bedside RN, virtual RN, and CNA support.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI imaging procedures following established protocols
  • Position patients and coils to obtain optimal imaging results
  • Review patient safety screening questionnaires prior to scans
  • Ensure image quality and proper labeling before transmission to PACS
  • Monitor and maintain MRI safety standards (ferromagnetic safety compliance)
  • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures and safety instructions
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and report malfunctions
  • Document procedures accurately in EMR/RIS systems
  • Ensure proper infection control and radiation safety practices
  • Support workflow coordination in a fast-paced hospital environment
Required Qualifications
  • MRI Technologist experience preferred (minimum 1 year preferred)
  • Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • ARRT MRI certification preferred/required per facility
  • Active state license (must be in hand for auto offer if applicable)
  • BLS Certification required
  • Strong knowledge of MRI physics, anatomy, and safety protocols
  • Ability to work in a team-based, high-acuity environment
