System QA Engineer

As a System QA Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
  • Develop, document, and maintain both manual and automated test procedures that will take place both internally and with external partners
  • Creation and Implementation of automated test software in virtual environments and on physical industrial hardware
  • Coordinate with other developers and engineers to implement realistic testing schedules
  • Execute and optimize test procedure with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to create software QA procedures and standards
  • Flexibility to jump into current team needs, which may require tasks outside of a traditional QA role

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or engineering (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of combined experience in software quality assurance, systems quality assurance, software development, or hardware/software integrated systems development in a production software/system in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Working with industrial software and hardware
  • Experience in Python, C++, C#, or other languages
  • Experience with industrial robots (Fanuc, Yaskawa, Kuka, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple release across projects
  • Proven track record of learning and adapting to new technology
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
  • Strong leadership, networking, and problem-solving skills
  • Candidate should have a "hands on, self-starter" orientation to their work, have broad interests and willingness to explore new areas

Work location:
  • This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
