Overview and Responsibilities

Job Summary

Saint Mary's University is seeking to hire an Enrollment Counselor on the Minneapolis campus. This position is responsible for recruitment, outreach, and relationship building specifically for programs within the School of Business and Technology and the School of Health and Human Services. The Enrollment Counselor will build relationships with prospective students and guide them through the recruitment process from inquiry through the beginning of classes. The Enrollment Counselor will also collaborate with other members of the Enrollment Management team and the Saint Mary's community, including professionals in strategic partnerships, international partnerships, and academic program staff.

Salary Range: $40,000 - $43,000

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Invest in each prospective student to understand their professional goals, providing tailored advising on appropriate graduate and professional programs.
  • Promptly follow up with new inquiries and applicants via telephone, e-mail, and text; meet with prospective students virtually and in-person.
  • Lead prospective students through the application and enrollment processes.
  • Maintain detailed contact management records to promote positive relationships with prospective students.
  • Assist in the tracking of prospective student inquiries, student appointments, student applications, and acceptances each term.
  • Monitor daily application and inquiry activity.
  • Partner with Academic Program Directors and staff within the School of Business and Technology and the School of Health and Human Services to stay current on program updates, requirements, and industry trends.
  • Participate in virtual program specific recruitment events.
  • Participate in on- and off-campus admission events, career fairs, and professional conferences to promote Saint Mary's University and its programs.
  • Meet established enrollment goals.
  • Assist and contribute to special admission projects.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in higher education and/or sales and marketing preferred.
  • An understanding of employment opportunities/job outlook in the region and greater metro area preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
