Waukesha local Top Workplace looking for a dedicated Quality Control technician to join our team to support critical Inspection & Quality processes! Role will primarily support our fabrication & welding department but may assist in other manufacturing areas of the company as needed.

Starting pay dependent on welding or inspection/quality related experience. Willing to train those without formal quality/inspection experience, but have hands on welding experience.


Position will be Responsible for:

  • Leading visual, technical inspection processes for welding, paint subcontracting & other sheet metal operations
  • Assist in planning/developing inspection plans, monitoring inspection or quality processes 

  • Preparing ballooned part prints, first-article, in-process, final, & other required inspection paperwork as required per part
  • Assist in final/in process inspection for our production weld cell, & all fabrication work cells
  • Work with department/cells leads & production to ID and correct areas of non-conformance, lead independently full Corrective Action, ECN, RMA, PPAP processes
  • Supporting  production with hands on dimensional inspection needs using bench/standard measuring tools as needed
  • Assist in programming of all bench measurement equipment as needed (Virtek, Romer arm)
  • Assist in maintaining calibration system/processes
  • Assisting with in maintaining calibration system/processes for employee or company inspection equipment
  • May assist operators in inspection methods, applications, or blueprint reading
  • Active participation in evaluating quality/inspection process improvements; may be required to make recommendations or modify quality or inspection procedures
  • Periodic assistance in auditing for current / new quality certifications

Requirements

Required & Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in a quality or inspection role in a precision welding/fabrication environment preferred OR
  • Manufacturing role that provided experience in welding, fabrication processes. ( Will consider candidates with other metals manufacturing experience)
  • Strong blueprint reading abilities, including weld symbols
  • Proficient in all standard bench & hand measurement equipment (mics, calipers, height stand, gages, tap measure, square etc.)
  • Must be very comfortable/proficient with computers, Microsoft office, data entry. 
  • High proficiency in math, problem sensitivity, & critical thinking. 
  • Ability to communicate information proactively with company leaders and manufacturing team
  • Comfortable providing proactive or corrective training to operators, leaders, or other quality technicians
  • Team orientated mindset & willingness to be a consistent customer representative
  • Able to sit, stand or walk for up to 9 hours day
