Citrix & AVD Administrator
Location: Austin, TX (hybrid)
Contract Duration: 12–18 months
We are seeking a senior-level Citrix & Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Administrator to manage, support, and optimize enterprise virtual desktop environments. This role combines hands-on administration, advanced troubleshooting, and platform optimization across both Citrix and AVD ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in large-scale environments and will work closely with infrastructure, network, security, and end-user teams to ensure performance, stability, and availability.
Qualifications:
  • 6+ years administering Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops / Citrix DaaS and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) in production environments
  • Strong experience in day-to-day operations, incident response, and advanced troubleshooting across VDI platforms
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve performance, connectivity, user session, and application issues
  • Experience with Citrix and AVD licensing, Active Directory integration, and Group Policy (GPO) management
  • Knowledge of networking and firewall configurations supporting Citrix and AVD
  • Experience in high-availability enterprise environments with security and compliance requirements
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations and coordinate with offshore teams
  • Windows Server administration (AD, GPO, DNS/DHCP, patching, hardening)
  • Azure and hybrid networking (VNets, NSGs, routing, firewalls, private endpoints)
  • PowerShell scripting for automation
  • FSLogix profile management, host pool/delivery group management, and image administration
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Citrix Director
  • Experience in large enterprise or regulated environments preferred
  • Exposure to ARM, Bicep, or Terraform is a plus
  • Relevant certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-140, or Citrix CCA-V/CCP-V preferred

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and support Citrix and AVD environments
  • Troubleshoot user, performance, connectivity, and application issues across VDI platforms
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes
  • Manage host pools, session hosts, delivery groups, and application delivery
  • Optimize performance including FSLogix, scaling, and session management
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, firewall, security, and EUC teams
  • Monitor system health, respond to incidents, and maintain uptime
  • Maintain documentation and follow security and change management processes
  • Participate in on-call support including offshore coordination
