Job description

This position is responsible for leading the Specialized Loan Operations team, which administers Trustmark’s most complex and high-profile Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial and Industrial (C&I) loans, including bank-led and purchased participations, syndications, and Shared National Credits (SNCs). This position oversees all booking, servicing and maintenance functions performed by the team while also serving as the primary contact for relationship managers and senior management on all specialized loan operations related to customer service issues. The role also serves as the department’s primary operational resource for syndicated transactions in which Trustmark acts as Administrative Agent, ensuring accurate and timely administration after closing. This position is pivotal to the integrity, efficiency, and compliance of our specialized lending operations.


  • Cross-train, lead and develop team of associates to promote maximum efficiency, engagement, succession planning and overall contribution to strategic organizational goals.
  • Direct all daily servicing activities for complex Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Commercial Real Estate loans, including purchased and sold participations, syndications and Shared National Credits (SNC).
  • Oversee the specialized loan operations team responsible for loan booking, post-booking servicing, and account maintenance.
  • Serve as the operational lead for syndicated credits where Trustmark is the lead Administrative Agent including participant funding coordination and communications; payments, fee administrations, rate-changes and servicing notices in accordance with approved loan terms and established procedures.
  • Interface with relationship managers and senior management to resolve loan operations related customer service issues that are often complex and time sensitive.
  • Analyze procedures and make recommendations for automating and streamlining workflows. Ensure the portfolio is serviced properly through evaluation of current staffing levels, software, and equipment needs.
  • Work closely with the Core Loan System Process Manager and other loan operations managers in developing and implementing departmental operating procedures consistent with regulatory requirements, bank policies, and strategic objectives.
  • Assist the Core Loan System Process Manager in coordinating loan operations data for participation, syndication and SNC reporting and ensure compliance adherence to bank policies and regulations.
  • Approve performance reviews, compensation requests, and hires. Develop subordinate managers through mentoring, job enrichment, and cross-training.
  • Associates are expected to perform all additional duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years of banking experience in a loan operations or commercial lending role with a preference for experience managing the booking and servicing process for complex commercial loans (including bank led and purchased participations, syndications and Shared National Credits (SNCs).
  • Demonstrated experience administering syndicated credits for which the bank serves as Administrative Agent or lead bank, including funding, payment allocation, interest and fee calculations, notices, rate changes and ongoing servicing controls.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending business, credit and lending terminology, bank regulatory requirements, and credit risk management.
  • Extensive experience utilizing core banking software capable of performing booking and servicing functions for sold or purchased participations, syndications, and SNCs. Specific experience with Fidelity Information Services’(FIS) Advanced Lending Solution (ALS) platform, particularly FIS's ALS loan system, is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and managerial skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex loan structures and documentation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on team development and stakeholder management.
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Two or more years of college education in a business, finance, or accounting field preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
