Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Training Instructor opportunity in Johnson City, TN.
Job Description:
The Training Instructor is responsible for designing, developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs that support employee development, operational excellence, safety compliance, and workforce readiness. This position works closely with operations, maintenance, safety, quality, and leadership teams to ensure employees possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs safely and effectively. The Training Instructor facilitates classroom, hands-on, and virtual learning experiences while maintaining training records and evaluating program effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver instructor-led training programs for new hires and existing employees.
  • Develop and update training materials, presentations, participant guides, assessments, and job aids.
  • Conduct skills assessments and evaluate employee competency and training effectiveness.
  • Facilitate safety, quality, operational, technical, and compliance-related training.
  • Maintain training records and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with department managers and subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through workforce development and skills enhancement programs.
  • Ensure training programs align with organizational objectives, policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities related to employee training.
  • Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other training technologies to administer and track training activities.
  • Evaluate training outcomes and recommend improvements to enhance learning effectiveness.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Business, Industrial Technology, Technical Training, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience.
  • Experience delivering instructor-led training in a corporate, technical, operational, or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, production, processing, logistics, energy, chemical, automotive, aerospace, food manufacturing, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, workplace safety programs, and compliance training requirements.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience developing training materials and conducting employee assessments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and learning management systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and documentation skills.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience training operators, technicians, maintenance personnel, or skilled trades employees.
