WORK CALENDAR: 183 Days
STANDARD HOURS: 7.5 Hours/Day
PERF: CPCSC is a Non-PERF District

The Virtual Lab at WCHS is an important component of the curriculum. It affords students the opportunity to recover lost credits. The instructional assistant in the V Lab is responsible for completing the following tasks:

  1. Monitor individual student progress during each class period. Personally speak with each student and make sure they are logged on to APEX and working on appropriate assignments.
  2. Move around the room during each class period and monitor administrative function on APEX and make sure students are logged on APEX and on task. Redirect students who or are not logged on and working on assignments.
  3. Create a folder for each Teacher of Record (Math, Science, etc.) and run a weekly report for each student in the V Lab. Place the report in the folder and put in ToR's mailbox at the end of the week. The ToR will review the folder and return it to V Lab IA on the next school day. V Lab IA will file contents of folder in a student file.
  4. Create and submit weekly report for guidance and administration that shows the progress of all students in the V Lab. Inform guidance and administration of students who are not working or making progress.
  5. Conference with each student weekly regarding progress on APEX and record date and time of conference.

Qualifications:

  • The preferred candidate will have experience working with students with special needs
  • The preferred candidate will have a teacher's license.
