Job description

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Edgewood University is seeking qualified Adjunct Nursing Instructors to join our Online Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. This program combines online didactic instruction with periodic in-person immersion experiences at the Edgewood University Center for Health Sciences in Madison, WI. Rooted in the Dominican tradition, Edgewood University is committed to ethical leadership, academic excellence, and inclusive, student-centered education. We are currently looking for instructors with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Medical-Surgical Nursing
  • Maternal-Child Health
  • Psychosocial/Behavioral Health
  • Public Health
  • Adult Health
  • Perinatal & Pediatric Nursing
  • Pharmacology
  • Leadership & Healthcare Organizations
  • Evidence-Based Practice

Adjunct faculty in the Online Accelerated BSN program will support student learning through both virtual and in-person teaching formats. Faculty may teach online theory content, participate in immersion experiences, or both. Online theory instruction includes facilitating synchronous lectures on Tuesdays, proctoring exams on several Thursday afternoons, and holding two weekly virtual office hours. Courses run in both half-semester and full-semester formats. Online teaching experience is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.
In-person immersion faculty will teach at the Edgewood University Center for Health Sciences, located at 1255 Deming Way in Madison, WI. Faculty may lead instruction or evaluation in nursing skills, health assessment, or simulation debriefing, working with student groups of up to 8. Immersion sessions occur periodically throughout the year.
First Consideration will be given to application materials received by August 25, 2025.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach and facilitate assigned nursing courses in the online and immersion formats.
  • Provide timely, supportive, and constructive feedback.
  • Promote a professional, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with course leads and full-time faculty to support consistent course delivery and academic standards.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Education or Work Experience
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), or active enrollment in an MSN program.
  • Unencumbered Wisconsin RN license (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Minimum of two years of full-time (or equivalent) direct patient care experience.
  • Availability for online synchronous teaching and in-person immersion sessions in Madison.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience in an academic or clinical education setting.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and virtual teaching methods.
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and diverse student populations.
