The Instructional Coach, having both content and instructional expertise works as a colleague with academic administrators, master and/or lead teachers, and teachers to support student learning and teacher practice in a virtual PBL classroom. This position focuses on individual and group professional learning that expands and refines the understanding about research and data based effective instruction for teachers. The role supports others in building teaching skills, assists in applying new knowledge and provides ongoing professional development to a school or schools within the region, as a part of a team under the direction of the Instructional Methods Advisor.

This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

  • Designs and implements well organized individual and group learning opportunities for teachers and school leaders;

  • Models effective and differentiated instruction for teachers;

  • Creates and delivers ongoing professional development for teachers and school leaders;

  • Assists teachers in aligning their instruction with strong teaching methods, standards, and student data;

  • Observes teachers and school leaders and provides meaningful feedback and coaching;

  • Increases teacher effectiveness by improving the quality of teaching and learning through ongoing support to teachers;

  • Equips staff with resources and skills needed to implement effective instructional practices;

  • Assists teachers and school leaders with implementing instructional decisions based on student data;

  • Assists in implementing assessment and grading practices.

  • Provides support to teachers and administrators in analyzing student data;

  • Supports the development of high-quality professional learning communities;

  • Conduct research around new practices.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education AND

  • Five (5) years of successful teacher experience OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Ability to pass required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in designing and delivering quality professional development for administrators and teachers

  • Previous coaching or leadership experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum frameworks, and standards.

  • Experience in research-based instructional practices for learning

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and organization skills

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.); Web conferencing tools, Web proficiency.

  • Master's degree in Education, Instruction, or Leadership

  • Interpersonal skills to create collaborative and collegial relationships with teachers and school leaders

  • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.

  • We anticipate the salary range to be $40,007.00 - $60,010.00. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
