About the role:
The Instructional Coach supports high-quality teaching and learning in a K-3 setting by partnering with teachers to strengthen instructional practices and improve student outcomes. This role involves facilitating collaborative planning through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), modeling effective, standards-aligned instructional strategies, and providing job-embedded coaching grounded in early literacy and foundational skill development. The Instructional Coach works closely with instructional coach assistants, teachers, and administrators to analyze student data, identify instructional priorities, and support the implementation of evidence-based practices. Additionally, the coach designs and delivers professional learning, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and promotes consistency in instructional expectations across grade levels.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Tennessee license with an endorsement in grade/subject area.
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience, preferred.
    • Extensive experience in grade band or ELA/math.
    • LOE of at "above expectations" or "significantly above expectations."
  • Governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Tennessee Code Annotated and the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.
