Job description

Visionworks is currently seeking to hire a top notch individual for the position of Content Specialist. The Content Specialist oversees training curriculum and instructional development across multiple audiences creating practices and establishing methods for delivery assuring that learning events are successful and meet business goals. This individual will utilize adult learning methodologies to help analyze training needs, assist in the development of; onboarding, optical, business acumen and leadership development learning activities, and, monitor and report on effectiveness of training. Develops instructional strategies, course materials, assessment techniques, and appropriate integration of instructional technologies and best practices for a multi-channel approach to learning (eLearning, virtual, facilitated, and published) content.

Pay Class; Full Time and Remote
Pay: $62,671.63 - $83,562.17 Annual Salary
Summary of Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with HR, the Learning and Development Team, business leaders, and subject matter experts to design, develop, and deploy learning solutions to address identified needs.
2. Project manages instructional design projects from inception to completion.Identify and support the use of technology to facilitate remote training sessions.
3. Design multiple training projects simultaneously; assist in the development of project plans, coordinate resources and/or vendors, identify and overcome barriers, and ensures timely completion.
4. Follow up on various learning activities to identify additional development needs.
5. Create, deliver and maintains leadership development materials, including in-person and online training and other resources.
6. Partner with Learning and Development Team to identify and contract for outside training venues when needed.
7. Participate in developing and providing feedback on training materials and courses.
8. Develop and facilitate other training courses, in partnership with other departments, including train-the-trainer programs.
9. Contribute to a long-term strategy for designing, educating and implementing eLearning, mobile learning activities and virtual classroom platforms and strategies.
10. Audit and modify learning activities as necessary.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Instructional Design or related subject or equivalent experience
Experience & Background:
• 5-10 years of related work experience in content/instructional design must have successfully created and implemented multi-unit, multi-media training programs. Strong knowledge of training development best practies including adult learning theory, learning styles, writing and measuring effective objectives.
• Prior experience in training or developing others highly desired
• Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of Training and Development (T&D) functions and practices
• Experience working with project management and vendor-relations to support full cycle implementation
• Efficient time management, self-starter with ability to prioritize
• Strong presentation skills and ability to speak in front of groups, conduct high-level meetings and influence
• Ability to adapt to varying learning styles and abilities of learners
• Knowledge of the concepts and practices of adult learning, and the ability to apply these concepts and practices to workplace activities
• Ability to travel to the field to observe training content and learning effectiveness and provide feedback
• Ability to manage budget effectively to support all training activities within the company
• Exposure and understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS) required
• Proficient using instructional software such as Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Vyond
• Advanced skills using Microsoft Word, Excel & advanced Power Point skills
