Classification: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Seasonal (42 Weeks), Non-Exempt

INTRODUCTION:
The Siletz Tribal Head Start program provides a developmentally appropriate and Native American culturally relevant preschool experience which promotes school readiness skills for children who are 3 and 4 years of age. The program provides comprehensive services to children to ensure they are up-to-date on all well childcare and to promote their physical, social emotional and cognitive development. The Head Start program offers families the support they need to connect with community resources to further their personal growth and to support them in their role as their child's first and most important teacher.
DUTIES:
  • Maintaining health records for Head Start children.
  • Data entry of health data for Head Start children.
  • Works with teachers and parents to gather required health information.
  • Conducts health screenings for Head Start children.
  • Completes annual Immunization Review Report.
  • Assists with the coordination of health screening for Head Start children.
  • Assists with the Health Services Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Assists with Food Service reviews for Head Start classrooms.
  • General office duties for records management, processing check requests, and purchases for the classroom and program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED and one year of office experience working with data entry, maintaining files, operating basic office equipment, and managing multiple tasks.
Must pass a criminal history background check which includes a sex offender registry check and obtain one of the following through the Central Background Registry: State or tribal criminal history records, including fingerprints; or, Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal history records, including fingerprints; and Child abuse and neglect state registry check, if available, and all of these checks must also be performed for every state where the individual has resided within five years.
Knowledge in:
  • Operating basic office equipment (computer, copier, fax machine, scanner).

Experience in:
  • Computer data entry.
  • Maintaining filing systems.

Ability to:
  • Travel to Head Start classrooms.
  • Work with young children and their families.
  • Use health screening equipment and to conduct health screenings for children.
  • Establish and maintain professional boundaries.

Other:
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with insurance.
  • Must adhere to confidentiality of information and individuals as described in the CTSI Personnel manual and Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Must complete a physical and TB testing within 30 days of hire.
  • Must complete First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must complete Food Handlers certification within 30 days of hire.
