Virtual Classroom Hosts collectively cover about 30-60 virtual training sessions per month. For each event, this involves prepping the instructors on using the technology to deliver their content, loading all relevant media (slides, video clips, polls, etc.), and "hosting" the event to ensure it kicks-off and runs smoothly in the virtual platform. Though they do not present the content, the VC Hosts ensure that both instructors and attendees have the support they need to thrive in the virtual environment, and any technical issues that may arise are addressed quickly and calmly. After each course there is some critical administrative work gathering and posting reports so that CPEs can be awarded.
Part Time VC Host. Part Time Position, Remote, Anywhere in US. Hours may range from 0 to 40 with an average of 10-20. Pay Rate $33-$38
Job Functions
  • Preparing and coaching session presenters, including partners and presenters external to the firm; virtual facilitation skills are the primary focus of these preparations
  • Quality checking materials such as slides and videos to ensure compatibility with platforms and adherence to best practices
  • Troubleshooting in-session technical difficulties and minimizing their effects on presenters and participants
  • Working with technical specialists to address the root causes and perform after-action reviews
  • Contributing to developing best practices for instructor-led virtual training throughout L&D, including skills building and reference materials
  • Supporting events across all live virtual modalities and establishing strong ongoing relationships with internal IT operations and vendor contacts
  • Occasionally may need to work before or after standard business hours depending on the nature of the program
  • Preparing and uploading attendance reports and other documentation needed to meet CPE compliance requirements
  • Extensive knowledge in designing, setting up, facilitating, and troubleshooting virtual classroom events (MS Teams, Zoom, WebEx Training Center, Adobe Connect, webcasting (ON24, TalkPoint/GlobalMeet, Xyvid), video conferences, etc.)
  • Applied understanding of instructional design, adult learning theory, and problem-based learning approaches
  • Familiarity with the client's business context and learning needs
  • Understanding of NASBA CPE compliance rules for live virtual training

  • Experience in a professional services environment designing, facilitating, and troubleshooting virtual classroom events
  • Instructing experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of virtual classroom design and project management
  • Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills and ability to consult effectively across staff levels
  • Ability to work well under pressure and troubleshoot technology failures quickly and calmly to minimize the effects these difficulties have on presenters and learners
  • Experience in a professional services firm or equivalent
  • Experience relevant to specific to role
  • 3-5 yrs. training and development experience

The Compensation range for this role is 33.00 to 38.00 USD per hour. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
