Job description

The Quality Control Lead is responsible for the timely processing, including required reporting, of every order that returns to the warehouse. The Quality Control Lead directs other Quality Control Technicians who focus on individual pieces of equipment so that the QC leader can pay attention to entire orders.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct and instruct other staff in the QC department.
  • Develop the skills and abilities of other staff members.
  • Oversee QC checks, according to Rentex protocols, on incoming equipment.
  • Understand the daily and weekly schedule of returns and manage workflows accordingly
  • Effectively manage all required paperwork and reporting for QC department.
  • Be able to handle hard deadlines and plan workflow depending on client needs.
  • Cleaning, testing, and maintaining our large inventory of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot problems associated with audio visual equipment.
  • Diagnose and correct system problems.
  • Maintain all wireless systems and packages.
  • Diagnose, log and repair damaged items.
  • Assemble and configure equipment racks for client delivery.
  • Manage firmware versions for applicable devices.
  • Organize and manage the quality control space
  • Correctly sort and catalog and move to warehouse shelving all tested equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment in top cosmetic shape.
  • Solve current problems related to QC. Anticipate future issues and actively work to prevent them.
  • Process shipping and receiving, unloading trucks and checking in equipment.
  • Assist in annual & monthly inventory process.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Effectively manage all required paperwork.
  • Assist with other duties and other departments when necessary

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, which includes nights, weekends, and early mornings.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a dynamic and fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to follow procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate well and problem-solve.
  • Safe work practices.
  • Dependable, reliable and prompt.
  • Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in an AV production environment preferred
  • Prior experience operating a forklift preferred (will train and certify).

Proficient in Microsoft Office.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate with coworkers. The employee must carry, lift, or move objects up to 50 pounds.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are subject to change and may rotate. Needs of the business may dictate long hours and weekend work during high-demand periods.


Minimum Qualifications

• Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a GED.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.


Preferred Qualifications

• Have 3-5 years’ experience working with audio, broadcast, computer, and video equipment in a production environment.

• Prefer experience working with projectors

• Strong understanding of wireless audio systems

• Basic understanding of IP-based networking (wired and wireless)

• Ability to effectively troubleshoot and manage time in time sensitive situations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
