As a Production Supervisor at our milk facility, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of milk processing operations. Your role will involve leading a team of production workers, ensuring adherence to production schedules, and maintaining quality standards throughout the process. You'll coordinate with other departments to optimize production efficiency, monitor inventory levels, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, you'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies, as well as addressing any issues that arise during production. Your leadership and expertise will be critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our milk facility.

The position will be based in Tempe, AZ.

Main responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight:
    • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all production processes.
    • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Staff Supervision:
    • Lead, supervise, and support production associates.
    • Compose and deliver performance evaluations. Corrective action notices and provide constructive feedback.
  • Quality Control:
    • Train, monitor, and enforce quality control standards.
    • Address and rectify issues affecting product quality.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Track, manage, and audit raw materials and finished goods inventory.
    • Coordinate with the supply chain to optimize stock levels.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose scalable solutions.
    • Implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Enforce and promote safety protocols.
    • Conduct regular safety training for production personnel.
  • Communication:
    • Effectively collaborate with site cross-functional partners. (e.g., quality, logistics, maintenance).
    • Relay information accurately, in detail, and respectfully effectively to ensure smooth operations.
  • Training and Development:
    • Train new production associates.
    • Provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Problem Resolution:
    • Address and resolve production-related issues promptly.
    • Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards. (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.)
    • Keep abreast of industry regulations and update procedures accordingly.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Coordinate maintenance schedules for production equipment.
    • Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate production records and reports.
    • Generate reports for management on production metrics.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • Two (2) or more years of leadership experience in a production environment.
  • One (1) or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong leadership background – ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
  • Ability to manage and develop associates.
  • Strong skills Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, - PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.
