JOBTITLE: Performance Analyst, New York City FC II
DEPARTMENT: Sporting
REPORTING TO: Director, Player Personnel and Analysis
LOCATION: CFA New York (Orangeburg, NY)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The New York City FC II Performance Analyst is an important support role within our team's sporting operations department. Working alongside the New York City FC II coaching staff and multi-disciplinary staff team, this role will deliver valuable performance insights to enhance team performance and to support the development of our elite talents. The New York City FC II Performance Analyst role will contribute significantly to opposition analysis, the assessment of training, live/post-match analysis of New York City II games and to ongoing player IDP work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Video Analysis Support
  • Delivery of high quality, critical video analysis support to enhance the preparation of coaches and the development of players, including:
  • Filming, capturing and distribution of training / match footage.
  • Coding, analysis and feedback of training / match performance using essential performance analysis software, including Hudl Sportscode.
  • Organizing and maintaining databases of videos for best practice libraries and individual development plans.
  • Work alongside New York City FC II coaching staff to create and deliver team, unit and individual player learning sessions.

Data Collection and Management
  • Leverage our proprietary data platform to access, deliver, and interpret insights related to player performance, opposition analysis, and team analysis.

Technology Management
  • Maintain and update video analysis software and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate repairs or upgrades as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • 2+ years of work experience as a Performance or Video Analyst for a soccer team.
  • Ability to thrive in a group working environment - must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively convey messages to colleagues.
  • A strong knowledge of soccer, either as a former player, coach, or similar.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills and ability to assimilate new software processes quickly.
  • Experience with major video tagging platforms (Hudl Sportscode, Catapult Matchtracker, Spiideo, etc.) and telestration tools (Hudl Studio, CoachPaint, Piero, etc.).
  • Experience with Microsoft software (Excel, PowerPoint) is required, while experience with data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI) and Mac software (Keynote) is preferred.
  • Experience filming sporting events from a coaching perspective.
  • Certifications and experience flying drones preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Flexibility to work differing hours on a weekly basis (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) and travel in accordance with competition schedules.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a car.
  • Ability to legally work in the United States.

COMPENSATION:
This exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $55,000 to $60,000. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise.
