Job description

Control Tower & Field Quality Engineer - Engine Systems (ICE/ePT)
The North America Quality organization is currently seeking candidates to join the Control Tower and Field Quality Engineer (CTFQ Engineer) at the Headquarters & Technical Center (QEC) Auburn Hills, MI. The CTFQ Engineer is responsible for assisting in the administration and/or coordination of multiple vehicle systems including compiling project status reports, coordinating project schedules, managing project meetings, agendas, minutes and correspondence. The incumbent will report to a team lead or supervisor/manager and should have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for automotive and powertrain development. Opportunities are available in Propulsion System Group on the Internal Combustion Engines (ICE/ePT) Team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Facilitating cross functional project meetings, compile project status reports, coordinate project schedules, agendas, minutes and correspondence. Identify and analyze system requirements, and define project scope, requirements, and deliverables involving multiple stakeholders
  • Lead the resolution of warranty related issues - Accountable for problem solving process, proposed solution, validation, and weekly progress
  • Lead Triage for assigned engines - warranty claims analysis, conduct vehicle and component level analysis and testing, support Stellantis/Suppliers review at Quality Engineering Center and Manufacturing locations.
  • Establish short and long term containment actions for warranty issues
  • Travel to engine/vehicle plants and supplier locations locally, domestically and occasionally internationally to investigate parts, vehicles and processes

We are currently hiring in the following areas:
  • Internal Combustion Engine / ePT

These positions offer the selected candidate an opportunity to be an integral part of a company whose focus is to change the automotive landscape.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering or Product Development of Internal Combustion Engines
  • 2+ years of experience in testing/validation/test method development, including fixture design, instrumentation, data acquisition, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Well-rounded automotive knowledge and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and able to manage unionized workforce
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel and Project
  • Working knowledge of Teamcenter
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and understanding full detail on drawings

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's in Engineering or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineer
  • Shainin RedX Black Belt
  • Green Belt / Kepner Tregoe
  • Design for Six Sigma
  • Project Management
  • Engine systems experience
