Position Profile: Vice President, Business Development

Position Reports To: Executive Vice President, Business Development

Position Summary

The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for driving business growth through strategic acquisition of new clients, expansion of services with existing clients, and establishing productive and profitable relationships with clients. The Vice President, Business Development will provide strategic direction to the business and lead all sales-related activities within the assigned business region.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales strategies to meet company goals.

  • Provides expertise and guidance to regional and executive leadership on regional business development opportunities and strategic prospects.

  • Implements strategic sales and marketing plans within the assigned area of responsibility.

  • Communicates and acts upon the strategic direction of the organization within the designated region.

  • Collaborates with other regions and groups to carry out the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Actively identifies ways to differentiate Apache from its competitors within the market.

  • Ensures all sales activities are properly documented and tracked in Apache's CRM for the assigned region. Confirms business development team members in the region are adequately trained on how to use the CRM and holds each team member accountable for properly using the system.

  • Leads by example. Always represents Apache favorably. Conducts business in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Upholds all company and customer policies, procedures and guidelines and holds others accountable for doing the same.

  • Maintains knowledge of market direction, emerging technologies, industry best practices and trends.

  • Provides excellent people leadership including delivering constructive and timely feedback on performance, handling disciplinary issues in accordance with company policy and supporting team member development for the betterment of the team member and Apache.

  • Represents Apache in industry-recognized organizations, conferences, and events as an active participant and/or in a leadership role.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive business development and/or operational leadership experience within the industrial services, professional services, or related industry.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction, Engineering, or another industry-related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.

  • Established industry network and regular participation/leadership in industry recognized organizations

  • Demonstrated success in creating and articulating complex strategies and plans to both executive management and peers.

  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and influence others positively.

  • Proven ability to drive strategic direction.

  • Executive presence, one who possesses the depth of experience to comfortably interact with senior executives within the company while remaining accessible to everyone.

  • Driven self-starter with a strong attention to detail and ability to operate autonomously

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Frequent travel to work sites and offices (driving and/or flying).

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

  • No adverse environmental conditions expected
