Job description

Overview
MRO is the industry leader in Release of Information (ROI) and Health Information Management (HIM) services, partnering with hospitals and health systems nationwide. The Associate Director, Revenue Integrity Operations reports directly to the Vice President, Revenue Integrity Solutions, and has Area Managers reporting directly to this position. This is a key client-facing role, responsible for overseeing specialized teams supporting MRO business office and revenue integrity Release of Information (ROI) activities, ensuring compliance with established hospital policies and federal and state regulations, and ensuring work is completed in a timely and fiscally responsible manner per our contract with the client. The Associate Director, Revenue Integrity Operations acts as the liaison between MRO and client audit and PFS leaders, ensuring revenue integrity ROI activities are compliant with established policies and completed in a timely manner, and collaborates directly with the ADO's and Directors of Client Operations to support the overall successful operation of clients' revenue integrity requests, including RI workflow oversight, direct client interaction, and overall operational excellence. Success in this role calls for exceptional communication skills and a strong track record of managing client relationships.
Responsibilities
  • Overall management responsibility for Revenue Integrity ROI operations.
  • Conducting meetings with client audit and HIM stakeholders to review Audit Manager requests with suggestions to streamline workflow, create efficiencies and provide issue resolution / suggestive guidance.
  • Ability to generate timely, concise, and effective business correspondence.
  • Responsible for management of labor and expenditures to budget.
  • Ability to interact with employees, customers, and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner. Superior time management and attention to detail.
  • Participate in process review and improvement meetings.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews for client.
  • Ensuring productivity standards and goals are met for direct reports.
  • Oversees Area Managers who manage ROI Specialist workflow to ensure maximum productivity and quality standards are met, including guiding Area Managers on work assignment adjustments needed to cover peak periods, leave and vacancies.
  • Ensures Area Managers perform Quality Assurance (QA) monitoring of work completed by ROI Specialists, and reviews QA outcomes with Area Managers to identify trends and coaching needs.
  • Ensures Area Managers conduct quarterly and annual work performance reviews for ROI Specialists, and supports Area Managers in developing their team members to achieve professional goals.
  • Monitors Area Manager performance and provides performance feedback and evaluations for direct reports.
  • Promoting a positive image of MRO with emphasis on customer service by treating patients, co-workers, and medical center personnel with courtesy and respect.
  • Responding to customer needs in a positive, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Improve processes, policies, and practices so as to achieve company's goals and ensure regional policies are met.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration or health related field or equivalent experience is required. RHIT or RHIA preferred.
  • 5 plus years of HIM or Revenue cycle payer audit denial work experience.
  • Experience with Post Payment, Prepayment, and Government Audit workflows
  • Experience with healthcare information systems (HIS) strongly preferred.
  • Customer facing experience and proven success in managing customer relationships.
  • Experience with Microsoft excel
  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to 20% travel occasionally required.
  • Ability to thrive in a high activity environment with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel.
  • Participative management type - advocates team concept.

Total Compensation
Base pay is one element of the total compensation package. Eligible employees may also receive an annual cash bonus and have access to a comprehensive benefits offering, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Individual pay may be influenced by factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
