Founded in 1998, Fortress manages assets on behalf of over 2,000+ institutional clients and private investors worldwide across a range of credit and real estate, private equity and permanent capital investment strategies. Fortress Beacon Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund

Fortress Beacon is a global multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund seeking to generate differentiated alpha streams through trading primarily across global liquid markets. The Fortress Beacon portfolio consists of alpha oriented strategies, such as fundamental long/short equity, global macro, and merger arbitrage.

Equity Capital Markets / Syndicate Analyst – New York, NY

This is an opportunity to join a high-growth multi-manager investment platform within Fortress Investment Group at an early stage of its development. The role offers significant exposure to the investment process and the opportunity to work directly with experienced portfolio managers and senior investment professionals. We are looking for someone who can connect capital markets intelligence with fundamental investment analysis, someone who understands how transactions get done, but can also assess what a company is fundamentally worth and translate that analysis into actionable investment ideas. The successful candidate will have significant responsibility and the opportunity to help shape the platform as it grows.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze equity capital markets activity including IPOs, follow-ons, block trades, accelerated bookbuilds, lockup expirations and other equity and equity-linked transactions.
  • Provide timely, actionable analysis of market conditions, investor positioning, demand, transaction dynamics, and aftermarket performance.
  • Conduct fundamental research and valuation analysis of companies and sectors, including financial modeling, earnings analysis, valuation methodologies, and assessment of key investment drivers and risks.
  • Evaluate primary and secondary equity offerings as potential investment opportunities, incorporating both transaction-specific dynamics and underlying company fundamentals and valuation.
  • Work closely with portfolio managers to identify, develop, and evaluate investment ideas arising from equity capital markets activity.
  • Maintain and leverage relationships with investment banks, syndicate desks, sales teams, and other market participants to generate differentiated market intelligence.
  • Analyze deal terms, order books, pricing, allocations, and investor behavior, and translate these insights into actionable investment recommendations.
  • Develop analytical tools and frameworks to monitor issuance activity, market trends, valuation, and relative value.
  • Contribute to the continued development of the platform’s equity capital markets capabilities.
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in equity capital markets, investment banking, equity research, sales & trading, or a related investment role.
  • Experience on a sell-side equity syndicate desk is a significant plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct fundamental analysis, financial modeling and valuation work.
  • Strong understanding of equity capital markets, transaction mechanics, investor behavior, and market structure.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable investment conclusions.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced investment environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity, initiative and a genuine interest in investing and financial markets.
Compensation

The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $150,000 and $200,000. The base salary range proposed for this role has been set forth to comply with local law, but salary is only one element of the total compensation for this role. The base salary range suggested above does not include compensation elements such as bonuses, overtime and deferred cash (each of which are applicable in certain roles), benefits, perquisites, and company contributions to employee 401(k) accounts. Such other pay components often result in total compensation materially exceeding base salary for a particular role. Total compensation as well as base salary for a role depend in part upon individual performance, years of service, experience, geographic considerations, the performance and the needs of particular business units, company performance, and general market conditions.
