Job description

The VP, Performance Marketing will build and scale CLEAR's customer acquisition and retention strategy for our business, owning performance across paid media, search and emerging discovery, web, CRM and lifecycle, and strategic partnerships. As AI reshapes how travelers discover, evaluate, and purchase products, you'll define the next generation of CLEAR's performance marketing playbook - reaching travelers long before they arrive at the airport and turning them into long-term Members.

What you'll do:

  • Own CLEAR's performance marketing strategy and investment portfolio across paid media, search, web, CRM and lifecycle, and emerging channels - allocating resources based on incrementality, customer economics, and measurable business impact.
  • Build the next generation of traveler discovery for CLEAR across traditional search, AI assistants, communities, travel media, and emerging platforms; establish how we measure and grow CLEAR's visibility, consideration, and recommendation as consumer behavior evolves.
  • Own the Member lifecycle from acquisition through renewal and winback, building personalized journeys, offers, and experiences that increase engagement, retention, and adoption of CLEAR's growing portfolio of travel products and services.
  • Grow CLEAR's strategic travel partnerships, including credit card, airline, and travel partners, while developing new acquisition opportunities across travel media networks and other first-party ecosystems that reach consumers throughout their journey.
  • Build a rigorous performance and experimentation engine across the function, owning CAC, LTV, payback, incrementality, and portfolio ROI while using AI, first-party data, creative testing, and emerging measurement approaches to continuously improve performance.

How you'll measure success:

  • Growth in new Member bookings through digital and partner channels.
  • Improvement in portfolio ROI, CAC, LTV, retention, and payback period.
  • Incremental Member and revenue growth from new and expansion products.
  • Growth in CLEAR's visibility, consideration, and recommendation across traditional and AI-driven discovery.

What you're great at:

  • 10+ years of growth or performance marketing experience, including ownership of acquisition and retention within a scaled subscription, membership, or consumer business, with 3+ years leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Deep analytical fluency and command of growth economics-you've built and used LTV:CAC models, designed incrementality experiments and holdouts, and can work directly with SQL and business intelligence tools to make investment decisions.
  • Hands-on expertise across the modern growth stack, including paid media platforms, CRM and lifecycle tools, CDPs, experimentation, and measurement; you can move seamlessly between setting strategy and getting into the details required to execute it.
  • A strong point of view on how AI is changing consumer discovery and marketing, with demonstrated experience applying emerging technology to improve marketing performance, creative development, audience strategy, measurement, or customer engagement.
  • A builder and owner who thrives in lean, fast-moving environments-you develop exceptional talent, move quickly from insight to action, and are comfortable personally doing the work when that is what it takes to deliver the outcome.

How You'll be Rewarded:

At CLEAR, we help YOU move forward - because when you're at your best, we're at our best. You'll work with talented team members motivated by our mission of making experiences safer and easier. Our offices are bright and energetic with an open concept and plenty of conference rooms and casual co-working spaces. We also offer catered lunches every day and have fully stocked kitchens. Outside of the office, we invest in your well-being and learning & development with stipends and reimbursement programs.

We offer holistic total rewards, including comprehensive healthcare plans, family-building benefits (fertility and adoption/surrogacy support), flexible time off, annual wellness stipend, free OneMedical memberships for you and your dependents, a CLEAR Plus membership, and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match. The base salary range for this role is $250,000.00 - $325,000.00, depending on levels of skills and experience.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of CLEAR's salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of CLEAR's total compensation package for employees and other rewards may include annual bonuses, commission, Restricted Stock Units.
