The Vice President, IT will serve as a key member of HireRight’s executive leadership team. 


This leader will oversee infrastructure, cloud operations, enterprise applications, internal systems, end-user computing, help desk, governance, compliance, and global IT operations. They will inherit a significant internal team plus outsourced resources (~80 combined), with a mandate to improve quality, reduce reliance on partners while strengthening IT’s strategic impact. The ideal candidate brings deep operational leadership, enterprise application maturity, and global governance expertise. Given HireRight’s role as a global background screening provider, this leader must thrive in a highly regulated, data-rich, 24/7 operational environment.


IT Infrastructure, Cloud, & Operations Leadership

  • Oversee all on-prem data centers (US & Europe) and lead a multi-year modernization roadmap that transitions critical workloads toward an AWS-first architecture while managing down Azure/GCP complexity.
  • Manage global cloud operations across Azure, GCP, and AWS, ensuring stability, security, cost efficiency, and scalability.
  • Lead all core IT functions: network, storage, endpoints, help desk, device management, and vendor/outsourcing strategy.
  • Optimize hybrid environments, improving uptime, reliability, and performance while reducing operational friction.

Enterprise Applications & Internal Systems

Lead global ownership and maturity of critical internal platforms including:

  • Salesforce (Service, CPQ)
  • Microsoft D365
  • Oracle EPM/Planning

Ensure strong alignment between business processes and system design.

Stabilize and mature legacy internal applications, particularly Oracle EPM/Planning, which requires urgent remediation, and ensure strong architectural leadership.
Security, Governance & Compliance

Oversee global IT governance frameworks and certification programs including ISO, SOC 2, GDPR, and other regulatory mandates.

Ensure HireRight maintains world-class audit readiness and global compliance standards.

Establish rigorous processes, controls, and documentation across a 24/7, highly regulated environment

Leadership, Team Development & Change Management

  • Lead and elevate a globally distributed team; assess existing talent, upgrade where needed, and instill a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
  • Manage outsourced partners while transitioning high-value capabilities back in-house over time.
  • Bring fresh thinking, modernize outdated processes, and strengthen IT’s role as a proactive business enabler.


Global & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Manage IT operations across multiple regions with appreciation for cultural nuance, scale, and 24/7 global support requirements.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Security, Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CTO and contribute to long-range technology and business strategy.

Leadership & Scale
• Proven track record leading large-scale IT organizations, ideally within highly regulated environments.
• Track record leading large, distributed teams and inherited organizations in need of modernization.
• Strong people leadership skills: developing talent, evaluating performance, setting high standards.


Infrastructure & Cloud Expertise
• Deep operational experience across on-prem and hybrid infrastructures.
• Strong cloud proficiency; AWS experience highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to run stable, secure, high-availability environments at scale.


Enterprise Application Ownership
• Strong background owning and maturing enterprise applications, ideally including:
o Salesforce (Service/CPQ)
