Job description

The Vice President, Global Partnerships holds a leadership role on the sponsorship team, which is a department that manages national and global partners and drives revenue and support for League and Clubs with long term partnerships. This position is responsible for driving partner and league priorities as well as aligning support for league initiatives by partners. The VP will lead a team that manages partner deliverables and creation/execution of new assets/programs. This position as a significant role in cross departmental projects supporting the advancement of League priorities (Game, Fans, Engagement). The VP will also lead account teams in Global markets and game markets, leading strategy for overall account list under this position. The position requires significant experience working with partners including experience in client management, revenue generation/sales, renewals, integrated marketing planning & execution, sponsorship activation, negotiation, and analytics and media

Responsibilities
  • Oversee one third of the Leagueโ€™s portfolio of 40+ national and global sponsors
  • Responsible for management of multiple senior level client relationships including corporate sponsors, multiple agencies and marketing teams overseeing contractual agreements
  • Lead role with Directors on partner renewals and responsible for reaching goals of NFL
  • Managing team on upsell opportunities for existing sponsors โ€ฆ develop unique assets and programs for clients based on their objectives for success
  • Managing team on growing and expanding partnerships to all global game markets and international activations
  • Lead partner strategy across multiple global markets requiring understanding of cultural investment patterns and overall international market activity
  • Strategize and collaborate with sponsors, agencies and internal stakeholders to create fully integrated NFL themed marketing programs keeping partner goals and NFL parameters top of mind
  • Lead Tentpole budgeting, asset creation, execution and revenue generation (e.g Super Bowl, Draft, Kickoff)
  • Manage a team of Directors, Managers, and Coordinators
  • Represent Sponsorship department in cross-departmental projects including planning and creating assets, policy changes and league-wide initiatives
  • Drive long-term retention and growth of NFL sponsors โ€ฆ helps drive League priorities (the Game, Fans, Engagement) through sponsor activities
  • Support SVP on senior leadership/ownership updates and requests (e.g., financial forecasting / business planning process, Commissioner updates/requests, cross-department projects and status)
  • Develop senior level communication on partner status and plans (e.g. summaries, presentations, proposals)
  • Lead communication across partner C-level executives and lead senior-level meetings between partners and NFL
  • Responsible for final decision on team reviews, account allocations, reporting structure and project allocations
  • Senior relationship point for building client relationships
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree
  • 15+ yearsโ€™ experience in sports sponsorship
  • Global business experience
  • Proven track record of sales experience
  • Client management experience
  • Experience managing a team of direct reports
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Executive level candidate with Sponsorship experience negotiating multi-million-dollar long term partnerships in sports
  • Management experience leading a team with direct reports and managing senior-level client relations
  • Sales, strategy, creativity, communication and financial experience are necessary
  • Strong brand marketer with understanding of partner categories, business and the sports/entertainment industry
  • Excellent communication skills and client service mentality with strong sales, presentation skills and creative and innovative thinking
  • Experience in managing teams globally across multiple territories and time zones
  • Leader and self starter with the ability to manage time, prioritize work and manage a team of multiple sponsor service staff members
  • Team player with strong cross-functional skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment
