What You’ll Do

The Vice President of Sales and Marketing is a strategic executive leader responsible for driving topline revenue growth, enhancing brand visibility, and maximizing guest acquisition across all segments, including transient, group, conference, catering – all revenue sources for the property. This role develops and executes comprehensive, data-driven sales and marketing strategies aligned with Beaver Run Resort’s business objectives and long-term vision. Leveraging advance analytics, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies, the VP will optimize demand forecasting, personalize marketing efforts, improve customer engagement, and identify new revenue opportunities.

Leading a team of directors and management-level professionals, the VP ensures operational excellence, accountability, vision, and consistent execution of revenue-generating initiatives. The position plays a critical role in fostering strong, collaborative relationships with HOA Board of Directors. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in resort and hospitality operations, a strong sales background, and the ability to integrate innovative technology-enabled solutions through resort industry software to drive performance and elevate the guest experience. Position located on premises in Breckenridge, CO. Transitional housing may be available. Full-time, year-round position with benefits eligibility as described below.

Position starts at $150,000-$180,000 annual salary

Supervisory Duties
  • Lead a team of 6-8 direct reports across sales, marketing, conference services, and revenue management
  • Performance management includes setting goals and expectations, monitoring performance, providing feedback and implementing corrective action.
  • Partner with HR to recruit and hire staff.
  • Identify and create development and advancement opportunities.
  • Ensure proper adherence to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute integrated sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth across transient, group, conference and catering segments
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams with clear accountability and metrics.
  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasting ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Lead strategic segmentation efforts with a strong emphasis on group, conference and catering business to stabilize demand and drive base occupancy, particularly in off-peak periods.
  • Leverage data analytics, AI, and revenue management tools to optimize pricing, forecasting, segmentation, and demand generation.
  • Lead digital marketing strategy, including website optimization, SEO, SEM, social media, reputation management, and performance marketing.
  • Drive direct booking strategies and reduce reliance on third-party channels while maximizing distribution effectiveness.
  • Oversee CRM strategy to enhance guest engagement, loyalty, and personalized marketing initiatives.
  • Identify emerging market trends, competitive positioning, and new revenue opportunities, including partnerships, experiential offerings, outdoor activations, and influencers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and finance to align commercial strategies and optimize guest experience.
  • Present performance insights, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the HOA Board of Directors.
  • Ensure effective use of technology platforms (RMS, CRM, and AI-enabled tools) to enhance efficiency, reporting, and decision making.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, stakeholders and community to support group and event business growth.
  • Generate sales metrics including but not limited to total revenue, profit margin, conversion rate from new leads, retention of existing business, customer acquisition cost and lifetime value, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field or equivalent experience – required – MBA a plus
  • 10+ years’ experience in sales and marketing or equivalent experience – required
  • 5+ years in hospitality/resort industry – required
  • 5+ years senior-level leadership role – required
  • 5+ years sales experience involving cold call prospecting – required
  • 3+ years direct or indirect management of sales team responsible for cold call prospecting – required
  • 2+ years direct or indirect traditional, digital and social media marketing – required
  • 2+ years direct or indirect revenue management experience – required
  • 3+ years directly or indirectly creating sales & marketing strategic plans – required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word – required
  • Advanced proficiency in budgeting, Profit & Loss, and business planning – required
  • Demonstrated experience using RMS, PMS and CRMs – required
  • Experience with Delphi, Duetto, Revinate and SMS – preferred
