Summary of Position

The Vice President of Capital Markets will be a senior leader within the finance team, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Finance and Accounting, Brett Brase. This individual will manage two direct reports (Financial Analysts) and play a critical role in sourcing, structuring, and executing real estate investment opportunities. The role requires close collaboration with all principals, with the majority of support directed toward Bucky Brooks, Principal and leader of Acquisitions.

The VP of Capital Markets will oversee investor relations, manage investment performance reporting and technology platform (AppFolio), and drive equity sourcing strategies. The successful candidate will bring an established network of capital partners, the ability to raise equity for new ventures, and the skills to structure innovative financing solutions. This is a highly visible, externally facing role with significant responsibility for the firm’s long-term investment success.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead all equity and debt capital raising activities for new and existing investments.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for institutional investors, private equity firms, lenders, and family offices.
  • Actively source new investors and cultivate relationships to expand the firm’s capital base.
  • Partner with acquisitions leadership (primarily Bucky Brooks and Brett Brase) to identify, structure, and close investment opportunities.
  • Oversee preparation of compelling investor materials, including offering memoranda, presentations, and equity pitches alongside marketing team.
  • Represent the firm in investor meetings, industry conferences, and capital partner negotiations.
  • Supervise and mentor two Financial Analysts to support underwriting, modeling, and capital markets activities.
  • Provide market intelligence on capital flows, investor sentiment, and emerging financing structures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party consultants to lead due diligence and transaction closings.
  • Strengthen the firm’s brand as buyers with investors through transparency, performance communication, and relationship management.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate capital markets, investment banking, or private equity.
  • Proven track record of raising equity and sourcing debt capital for large-scale real estate investments.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating and maintaining strong investor and lender relationships.
  • Leadership experience managing and developing junior professionals.
