S, Inc. is seeking a VP of Strategic Growth to join the corporate team at our HQ in Cummings Research Park, Huntsville, AL.ย  The VP will support growth accountability of all technical VPs and GMs through Shipley style management of waterfall, pipeline, and proposal team for achieving growth targets.ย  S in not a product developer (OEM).ย  S provides technical services to Army, Air Force, and Navy requirements.

Description:

Responsible for direct management of corporate growth processes, initiatives, budgets, staff, growth targets, waterfalls, bid/no bid reviews, color reviews, proposal products, NDAs, TAs, JVs, and strategic initiatives. Plans, organizes, and directs all business development and marketing functions, coordinating and cooperating with other technical departments. Develops operating budgets and business plans to support company objectives and executive approved plans. Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, and discipline of assigned employees. Operates the functions within delegated budgets. Interfaces with customer representatives to maintain open communications and to develop and expand business opportunities. Ensures that the department maintains total responsiveness to customer requirements. Reports to the CEO as a senior executive responsible for developing and executing strategies that expand the business through partnerships into new markets.

The ideal candidate provides at least 20 years of experience in corporate growth in DoW services contract requirements:ย  technical, programmatic, logistics, training, maintenance and airport ops, FMS, CONUS and OCONUS operations.ย  The ideal candidate's experience covers the business focus of the multiple subsidiaries.ย 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Develops new business opportunities in support of the Strategic Business Plan; develops and maintains the company's formal Opportunity Pipeline Document.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Prepares 3-year Strategic Business Plan for the CEO's approval; prepares Annual Business Plans consistent with CEO strategy.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Monitors and sustains the S3 Life Cycle Management database; and supports preparation of New Business packages for Identification, Validation, and Qualification of business opportunities for Bid/No Bid Reviews.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assists CEO and CFO in reviewing Corporate and BU performance; provides input and recommendations for improvements.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Participates in and/or conducts front-end assessments of business pursuits, capture plans, teaming agreements, recruitment, program management, B&P estimates, proposal development, and continuous process improvements.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Interfaces with Corporate and Business Unit / Subsidiary leadership to emphasize, promote, schedule, track, and capture new business to support Corporate growth goals. Briefs BU / Subsidiary and Corporate managers quarterly; provides Business Development briefs to CEO and CFO bi-weekly.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Leads major capture plans as agreed to by the CEO.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Manages proposals and coordinates proposal efforts with the S3 Publications Department.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Develops Corporate contact plans; schedules/facilitates executive contact with key customers; develops key messages and talking points as needed.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Prepares Corporate Business Development literature (capability briefs, corporate briefings, brochures, advertisements, and other marketing materials).

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Conducts automated searches for long-term opportunities consistent with capabilities of S3 business units and subsidiaries to attain strategic growth.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Utilizes an opportunity tracking system.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Develops a strategy for business in MDA, Space Force, Air Force, and US SOCOM.

Other specific duties include the following:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Uses competitive intelligence, market information, intimate customer knowledge, and business skills to develop customer value propositions to further corporate strategic interests.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Continually interfaces and builds positive relationships with senior and working level current and potential customers to understand their requirements, desires, and concerns.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Builds relationships to shape customer requirements and expectations.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintains awareness of key trends with regard to operational budget and gaps in national industry, technologies, and capabilities via research, personal contact, and participation in industry events.

Qualifications:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Bachelor's Degree with 20 years DOW experience, 15 years of relevant federal contract capture management, and contract execution experience. Master's Degree preferred.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  5 years of experience performing in quality controlled environment such as ISO/AS9100.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  10 years of experience as a DOW technical services contract capture manager.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Experience leading a proposal team and winning a Federal services contract valued over $200M.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  10 years of experience performing cradle to grave as a capture proposal manager/publications manager.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  2 years of experience with Government Relations, JVs, Federal Appropriations, OTAs, and FMS.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Secret Clearance; Top Secret Clearance preferred.
