Job Description:

The VP of Business Development at IERUS is responsible for managing and executing the full life-cycle development of both small and large-scale opportunities for IERUS in support of the CEO/President and in-line with IERUS’ Corporate priorities.  This includes capture management activities, managing relationships with current and potential customers, implementing and managing marketing strategies, managing proposal activities and processes, managing the business development team, and executing business development strategies on behalf of IERUS. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research to identify market trends related to IERUS’ expertise and areas of interest;
  • Working with PMs to leverage growth opportunities;
  • Working with Chief Technology Officer and staff working group to maintain an understanding of corporate technical capabilities past, present, and future;
  • Identifying potential business opportunities to develop and execute growth strategies;
  • Maintaining BD pipeline for analysis and reporting;
  • Fostering long term business relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors;
  • Leveraging relationships with industry partners to identify and qualify opportunities;
  • Initiating contact with teaming partners and developing work arrangements;
  • Forming teaming strategies to optimize win probability;
  • Completing full-cycle proposal development including formulating bid/no-bid decision recommendation, completing proposal outlines, conducting kick-off meetings, assigning authors, supporting/performing content creation, conducting review meetings, working with contracts to complete cost proposals, and finalizing and submitting proposals;
  • Maintaining intelligence information on potential customers, teaming partners, vendors and competitors;
  • Attending industry and tech conferences / symposiums, industry days, and other relevant events to market IERUS;
  • Development of marketing materials designed to articulate IERUS’ capabilities against customer requirements;
  • Lead regular business development and/or pipeline review meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development role supporting Defense contracting;
  • Experience with one or more of IERUS’s mission specialties;
  • Experience with one or more of IERUS’s core competencies;
  • Knowledge of government solicitation documents, including standard RFP structure;
  • Ability to manage and prioritize schedule between regular duties, ad hoc requests, and higher-level corporate priorities / initiatives;
  • Active Secret security clearance;
  • Must be a US citizen.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Technical degree;
  • Strong technical writing skills;
  • Proposal writing experience;
  • Top Secret security clearance.
