Advanced Resource Technologies, Inc (ARTI) is currently recruiting for a Personnel Security Assistant position in support of a contract with the Department of Homeland Security at our Washington, DC or Springfield VA location. Position is full-time, exempt. Start date is immediate upon selection and clearance processing finalized. SUMMARY The personnel security assistant shall provide direct support to OCSO's Personnel Security Division (PSD) Customer Service Helpdesk. Duties and responsibilities of the Personnel Security Assistant (PSA) will include: PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Extensive support functions and analysis of each applicants and finding answers to questions and to resolve their concerns promptly. Provide customer service, by telephone or email, to resolve applicant questions, omissions, or other concerns related to the clearance and suitability program and process. Proficient in the business process of "Electronic Questionnaire Investigation Processing" (e-QIP). Understand and be acquainted and proficient with the complete Suitability/ Fitness and Security Vetting Process for federal employees or contractors. Full understanding of all the various personnel security background investigations and completion of the Standard Forms 85, 85P, 85P-S and 86 and 306 and the number of years to be addressed by each investigation. Helpdesk representative may also be called upon to re-invite an applicant to use the e-QIP system. Reconciling clearance request forms for current or new request. Tracking current investigations and preparing statistical reports. Researching applicants personal and employment references. Requirements Undergraduate degree and two years specialized office experience preferred. Degree not required with High School diploma or GED equivalent and three years administrative experience and two years of specialized security experience. Specialized experience includes office management, suspense tracking, review of executive level correspondence, database administration, financial and product status tracking and reporting, monthly reports, and maintaining operating procedures. Extensive knowledge of electronic database operations management, administrative and correspondence processing procedures, and understanding of procedures required for processing actions for review, approval, and release. Must have strong computer skills to include proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Proficiency in performing data entry, running queries, and executing reports in MS Access or related user-end database software. Ability to adapt and quickly learn various computer software and applications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is required. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to effectively interact with personnel at all levels in a dynamic work environment is required. Must be organized and have excellent oral and written communication Must possess experience using Word processing and desktop publishing application software and hardware.
