Job description

  • Job Summary:
    The S&S Asset Management Systems (SSAMS) organization provides support and implementation for business VMI (Vendor-Managed Inventory) programs.
    The SSAMS Field Tech is responsible for installation, service, repair, and occasionally replenishment of vending machines. This includes but is not limited to hardware, software, and data communication devices.
    This position must be able to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC card and pass safety training and background check/drug screening requirements as needed.
    This is an on-call position and must be available for rotational off-hour and weekend support.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The primary role of this position is to manage and complete jobs according to established requirements and processes. Maintain efficient, completed job documentation and monitor assigned jobs from start to finish. Follow all safety procedures on the job sites. Monitor all aspects of assigned jobs to ensure customer needs are met.
    1. Operations/Support (60%)

    • Implement policies and support actions plans made by Department Manager.

    • Work directly with customers to troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.

    • Resolve vending issues remotely and on-site as necessary in a timely manner.

    • Provide support for all SSAMS solutions (e.g. Tool Room, Eturns, FMS, FIELDiD, etc.)

    • Contact manufacturers and/or support vendors as necessary to resolve bugs and defects.

    • Log and track vending incidents and/or request in the ticketing system.

    • Process adds, changes, and removal of items in vending machines. Work closely with the SSAMS Warehouse Supervisor to process adds, changes, and removal of items in vending machines. (e.g. Eclipse->AutoCrib-VMI)

    • Provide support for SSAMS Warehouse staff with regards to vending orders and vending machine malfunctions.

    • Maintain vending machine parts inventory. Place orders as necessary and perform routine physical inventory of assets.

    • Perform vending machine cycle counts when necessary.

    • Assure safe operation of assigned vehicle by completing vehicle safety checks.

    1. Staff Training (10%)

    • Provide in depth on-hands functional and technical training to vending technicians.

    • Provide basic training for S&S staff to support customers.

    • Maintain yearly certification of the AutoCrib software and hardware.

    1. Vending Machine Preventive Maintenance (20%)

    • Perform basic hardware maintenance on vending machines.

    • Observe mechanical devices in operation and asses to locate causes of trouble.

    • Lubricate and clean parts.

    • Start up and operate devices to test their performance.

    • Perform basic vending software maintenance as needed.

    • Perform physical inventory and adjustment.

    • Perform calibration as needed.

    • Assure VMI areas are clean and presentable

    • Maintains signage and product labeling

    • Assure areas and equipment are cleaned regularly

    1. Project Support (10%)

    • Participate in project meetings and lead projects related to vending machine solutions.

    Education/Experience:
    • High School Diploma.

    • Advanced computer skills preferred(e.g. MS Office suite, .NET, AutoCrib).

    • Hands-on vending machine repair experience; industrial vending machines preferred.

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time; handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other small parts; sit; bend; climb; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to loud noise, dust, fumes, and oil.
