About the Role

The Technical Packaging Manager oversees technical activities across multiple dosage forms, working with contract manufacturing organizations and internal manufacturing sites to support product transfers and new product introductions (NPIs). This role partners with QA, Commercial, R&D, central technical teams, and internal sites to meet business needs.

As the Technical Packaging Manager, you will lead technical troubleshooting and continuous improvement in CAPA effectiveness, ensure effective and efficient fit for purpose technical processes are in place to support Product Transfer, NPI, registration and launch. You will work as Haleon's single point of contact for all technical activities across multiple CMO's producing Haleon's products.

Role responsibilities:

  • Product / Process assessments and continuous improvement at CMO's.

  • Oversight and implementation of validation activities impacting Haleon products.

  • Troubleshooting and CAPA implementation / effectiveness for technical related issues.

  • Product transfer and NPI technical oversight and accountability.

  • Support the North America Technical Support Lead in development and application of standard work across the CMO network, including implementation of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Performance Management activities.

  • Work effectively within the matrix management structure to properly engage and drive performance from CMO Technical teams and pull in proper support from wider Haleon network technical resources when needed.

  • Support regional governance routines to track site performance vs plan and facilitate complex issue resolution.

  • Develop and maintain the knowledge system to leverage troubleshooting experience and improve CAPA effectiveness.

  • Coach and develop technical talent within CMO's and internal sites.

  • Represent the technical function and actively participate in regular SRT leadership meetings to drive business and Quality performance goals in the CMO network.

  • Independently manage most assignments, with primary accountability for identifying and prioritizing assigned projects and activities.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Engineering.

  • 6 years' engineering experience in pharmaceutical, CPG, food manufacturing or technical environments.

  • Experience in technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA) and CAPA effectiveness.

  • Leadership and execution of scale-up, technology transfer, and process validation projects.

  • Strong project management, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Travel 25-30%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Life Sciences or Engineering.

  • Experience in a CMO (Contract Manufacturing Operations) environment and knowledge of internal site capabilities.

  • Demonstrated technical capability in a global, matrixed environment within the pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetic industry.

  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and engage with external company teams on behalf of Haleon.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills across a matrix organization, with the ability to deliver results in ambiguous situations and under short deadlines.

  • Ability to summarize ideas and problems clearly and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Effective motivator and communicator with strong influencing skills.

  • Excellent relationship management and presentation skills.

Location: This role is Hybrid based in Warren, NJ and will require 3 days a week in the office.

The salary range for this role is $104,283 - $143,389 + a 12% Target Bonus.
