As a Vehicle Acquisition Specialist, you will play a key role in building dealership inventory and creating opportunities for our customers every day while earning competitive pay and great benefits.

Vehicle Acquisition SpecialistPosition Summary

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist plays a key role in supporting dealership inventory goals by proactively sourcing and purchasing pre-owned vehicles. This position is primarily responsible for acquiring inventory through multiple channels, including the service drive, e-markets, auctions, word-of-mouth referrals, and independent market research. In addition, this role supports operational and administrative dealership functions as needed to ensure accurate vehicle tracking, compliance, and dealership efficiency.

A strong focus on collaboration, professionalism, and customer experience is essential, as every team member contributes to delivering an exceptional guest experience—regardless of direct customer interaction.


Core Responsibilities
  • Actively source and purchase pre-owned vehicles through the service drive, digital marketplaces, auctions, referrals, and market research
  • Build relationships and identify acquisition opportunities through internal dealership traffic and external networks
  • Monitor market trends and vehicle availability to support inventory strategy and profitability goals
  • Assist in coordinating auction inventory, including weekly lineup preparation as needed
  • Maintain accurate accounting of all vehicles on dealership property
  • Verify incoming vehicle information by comparing VINs/serial numbers against invoices and barcodes
  • Assign and track stock control numbers for inventory management
  • Catalog, organize, and maintain control of vehicle keys
  • Run and interpret reports to identify vehicle locations and support inventory accuracy
  • Maintain compliance with all dealership policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Protect confidential dealership, customer, and vendor information at all times
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
  • Adhere to dealership dress code and maintain a professional appearance
  • Provide support with clerical and administrative duties as assigned
  • Assist other departments as needed to support overall dealership operations and guest experience
  • Work collaboratively with all dealership team members and maintain positive working relationships across departments
