Construction Controller

Position Overview:
The Construction Controller will lead the accounting and financial reporting function, ensure GAAP compliance, manage audits, optimize Deltek Vantagepoint ERP usage, and develop financial insights to support executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting standards.

  • Serve as audit lead and primary contact for external auditors.

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial policies.

  • Analyze financial data and trends to support business decisions.

  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members.

  • Manage ERP and reporting tools with an emphasis on Deltek Vantagepoint.

  • Stay current with evolving accounting standards and industry best practices.

  • Support construction-specific accounting needs such as job costing and percentage of completion.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of accounting/financial reporting experience, preferably in construction or A/E/C industries.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA certification preferred (or in progress).

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, audit processes, and internal controls.

  • Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams.

  • Hands-on experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems.

  • Familiarity with construction accounting methods and cost reporting.
