For over fifty years, Industrial Valve Sales and Service has proudly serviced their customers across the county from their three locations in Alabama, Louisiana, and Tennessee. ย Since opening their first shop in 1975, Industrial Valve has been committed to delivering outstanding customer service and taking care of their employees. ย The company focuses on the sales, reconditioning, and repair of various types of valves and actuators for industries like power, chemical, and gas refining. ย 


Job overview:

The actuator technician position will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair and installation and testing of various mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric actuators. ย ย This position will perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and repair of actuators and valves, including seal kit installation and component replacement at shop facilities and customer locations. ย The actuator technician should be able to perform pressure, leakage, and functional tests on actuators to ensure proper operation. ย This position should be able to diagnose electromechanical or hydraulic issues using tools like multi-meters, gauges, and software. ย You should be able to maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and compliance with safety standards. ย This position should be able to communicate timely updates to management, co-workers, and customers to ensure appropriate and successful completion of job responsibilities and to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations. ย You must be able to travel to job sites and adhere to all site safety and performance requirements. ย 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Follows safety and quality procedures
  • Must be able to read measuring / scaling devices
  • Cleaning, blasting, and painting valve and actuator components
  • Collaborate with colleagues and mentor other technicians
  • Operate equipment (overhead hoist, blaster, parts washer, torch, etc.)
  • Enjoy doing mechanical work
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Maintain equipment in area, as required
  • May be required to help in field assignments
  • Required to climb and work in various elevations depending on job scope
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must have a safety awareness in the industrial workplace
  • Must be able to document and enter job data

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience with Rotork and Limitorque Actuators (preferred)
  • Experience installing Shafer, Biffi, Bettis, EIM electric and pneumatic actuatorsย 
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting actuator controls
  • Installing seal kits for electric and pneumatic actuators
  • Experience with stainless steel tube bending and installation
  • Basic OSHA Safety Training (preferred)
  • Current or up-to-date TWIC (preferred)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude including, but not limited to basic hand and power tool knowledge
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills
  • Must be able to travel and have a clean driving record
  • Clear background check and drug/ alcohol screening
  • Travel when needed at anytime
  • Working in hot and cold environments
  • Bending, stooping, and walking
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
