Job description

Catawba Valley Assisted Living is seeking shift supervisors. Individual must possess NC certificates to practice as both an Assisted Living SIC/Medication Technician and a Personal Care Aide/CNA.

Nature and Scope

Catawba Valley Assisted Living Supervisors are responsible for providing leadership support and management of care. Assists with medication assistance for residents in accordance with state regulations and community's policy including: pouring, preparing, assisting with administration and documentation as defined through community policies and training.

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Hands-on leadership in the day-to-day care operations.

  • Directly supervises and assists care team.

  • Assists with providing resident care and services.

  • Assists in the recruiting, hiring, training and coaching of care team.

  • Provides recognition and creates an engaged culture for team members, residents and families.

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications:

  • Supervisory/management experience preferred including supervisory and responsibility of shift/daily operations.

  • One (1) year care experience within a senior care setting.

  • One (1) year supervisory experience preferred in assisted living, home health, long term care or hospital industries.

  • High School degree.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Demonstrated judgment, problem solving and decision making skills.

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office with the ability to learn new applications.

  • Effective organization, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate assignments.

  • Must have ability to remain calm under stressful situations.

  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member and individual.

  • Must be honest, fair and dependable.

  • Must respect confidentiality and adhere to the rights and privacy of others in accordance with local, state and federal laws.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
