Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager who will support EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades Project at James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, Tampa, Florida. You will provide construction management support for ongoing construction activities, including submittal management, schedule monitoring, inspections, as-built documentation, issue resolution, quality oversight, and coordination with project stakeholders while supporting the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) throughout the construction phase.
This position is contingent upon the award of the contract. If awarded, the anticipated period of performance is for a one-year base period with three additional option years.
Key responsibilities:
  • Coordinate submittal reviews and manage the submittal process.
  • Review submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications, VA standards, codes, and VA Medical Center requirements.
  • Document, track, monitor, and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) and responses.
  • Review and monitor project schedules, including milestone completion dates, phasing requirements, workflow, material deliveries, and test dates.
  • Track availability of long lead items and communicate schedule impacts.
  • Attend and support weekly or bi-weekly project meetings.
  • Perform field verification of as-built drawings and assist with updates.
  • Perform inspections of construction work and report non-conforming work requiring correction to the COR.
  • Compile lists of defects and omissions identified through site inspections.
  • Assist with development of courses of action for construction issues.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for construction problems.
  • Maintain marked-up project plans and specifications for future as-built drawings.
  • Monitor project financial data and budgetary cost accounting.
  • Assist with administration of construction contract change orders.
  • Support Request for Information (RFI) reviews and responses.
  • Coordinate Owner-supplied equipment and review Operational and Maintenance data and Closeout Submittals.
  • Prepare observation reports, defect and omission lists, modification narratives, sketches, and drawings as required.
  • Maintain daily logs and inspection reports.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited university in lieu of a degree, fifteen (15) years of directly related experience.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in management of facility construction projects, including supervision of engineering, design and construction, schedule control, cost management, program budgeting, and overall project management activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project construction team members.
  • Healthcare project/facility experience preferred.
  • Provide EHRM project construction management support.
