UW Medical Center- Heart Institute Clinichas an outstanding opportunity for aPatient Care Coordinator Supervisor.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise assigned staff ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, insurance and other financial requirements, and hospital policies and procedures

  • Act as a liaison between patients, consulting physician, referring physician, or outside agency to coordinate patient appointments, admission, or surgery

  • Will coordinate the exchange of information either written or verbally before and after patients are seen

  • Consistently demonstrates productive and timely communication with charge nursing staff, peers, patients, physicians, volunteers and other medical center departments and ancillary service

  • Increase collaboration between our PCC/PSS team through regular meetings and addressing overlap and delegation of duties between the two teams

  • Oversee break and vacation coverage through equitable means

  • Report out weekly, AccuReg, phone calls, referral numbers to administration

  • Coordinate pre-admission test and procedures

  • Schedule and ensure pre-anesthesia work ups are completed

  • Coordinate the direct transfer of patients from outside hospitals to UWMC with physicians, medial staff and Admitting

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a medically related or public relations field AND two years of experience in a tertiary patient care setting involving interaction with a variety of medical services, contact with patients and families, interaction with physicians, and proficiency in medical terminology.

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
