JOB SUMMARY  

The Sr. Manager, System Facilities works across UVA Health Northern Virginia & Culpeper to develop and administer programs to all UVA Health Northern Virginia & Culpeper entities as assigned. This role reports to the Director, UVACH Facilities, and includes the physical appearance and maintenance of the buildings, grounds, and equipment of the hospitals and oversees all construction activities, serving as the primary liaison between the hospital and construction and engineering service providers. The Sr Manager, System Facilities develops policies and procedures for the efficient use of all resources and ensures that all UVA Health Northern Virginia & Culpeper entities conform to established standards and all regulatory requirements. Additionally, this role is responsible for the following: 

  • Oversees daily activities of the Facilities department for UVA Prince William Medical Center, UVA Haymarket Medical Center and Culpeper Medical Center  

  • Acts as Project Manager for Facilities capital projects 

  • Leads and develops competencies for all Facilities personnel 

  • Assisting Director with maintenance contracts 

Analysis:Analyzes processes and creates deliverables to provide information and recommendations for improvements. 

  • Breaks down problems and issues into sub-components and assesses the costs, benefits, and risks of various options 

  • Is able to select and recommend the best solution based on a thorough examination of all considerations 

  • Is able to explain and justify actions in a systematic and logical fashion 

Communication:Shares and receives information using clear oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Financial Management:Manages tasks and resources within the department to achieve quality and meet budget requirements. 

  • Ensures that financial and material resources are used effectively and efficiently 

  • Leverages resources to maximize utility and return on investment (ROI) 

  • Implements measures to minimize theft, damage, or equipment breakdown 

The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education: Bachelor's degree required. 10 years of hospital facility management experience may be substituted 

Experience: 5+ years management in hospital facilities engineering required 

Licensure: Valid VA Driver's License 

Additional Skills/Requirements Required

  • Demonstrated track record of collaboration and exceeding expectations 

  • Experience managing facilities infrastructure projects 

  • In-depth knowledge of MEP system, life safety codes/requirements 

  • Contract negotiation skills 

  • Ability to motivate and develop staff 

Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred:  

  • Experience with The Joint Commission (TJC) surveys. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Work Function/Activity: Sedentary to Light Physical Demand 

The job requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient in communication, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. occasionally. The base compensation range for this role is  $54.82  - $90.79 hourly.

Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.  Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
