Job description

The Facilities Technician independently completes all facility related services for the assigned location. The scope of the job may include a wide range of facility services and/or activities including routine and non-routine tasks to be independently completed per office guidelines and/or under supervision of a more experienced technician or supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing a maintenance plan
  • Proactively identify facility needs
  • Perform regular building rounding to ensure the facility is clean, welcoming and safe for patients and staff
  • Perform routine building safety checks
  • Provide basic building maintenance as needed
  • Perform basic custodial duties as needed
  • Perform outside maintenance and grounds services as needed
  • Manage/assist in repair requests, weekly inspections, inventory/organization of equipment and facilities, project supervision, review safety/security policies and exercise fiscal accountability.
  • Assist with sorting and distributing all incoming mail and packages; prepare and prepping it for inter office mail
  • Act as a liaison, and point of contact with internal staff, external vendors, building staff and customers as it pertains to each facility


Working Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a healthcare setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the clinic. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This role may float to other MCC clinic sites if needed. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. Must be able to lift heavy objects and prepare facilities for events.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.


Travel Requirements

Must have the ability to travel between MCC sites in the St. Paul/Minneapolis metro area.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 plus years of experience in building maintenance experience, facilities management or related field
  • Flexible with variable work schedule; must be available to be on-call weekdays and weekends if needed
  • Fast paced environment; must be able to adapt to what is needed
