Job Description

As the Customer Relations Billing Specialist, this role is responsible for delivering excellence in service and contributing to the mission of protecting businesses, people and time. This role will focus on accurate and timely invoicing to our customers. The Customer Relations Billing Specialist is responsible for collaboration across all levels to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Invoice assigned customers timely and accurately
  • Resolve customer inquiries and discrepancies timely
  • Document resolutions and maintain billing records consistently
  • Verify invoice procedures and validate customer contracts
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers
  • Collaborate with the Field, Collections Team, Sales, and Accounts Receivable Team to ensure payments for assigned customers are received within terms and applied properly
  • Escalate complex issues to supervisors using standardized templates
  • Communicate with internal and/or external customers
  • Participate in governance calls and daily huddles as required
  • Act as a resource for other functions within AWP
  • Provide training and support as requested
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
     
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years AR/Billing experience preferred
  • Pay application, lien waiver, and contract management experience preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and terminology; strong math skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrate high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Outgoing & assertive personality – not afraid to approach individuals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products (Excel, Word)
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred
    • West – Prelude, American Contractor
    • North & South – Salesforce, Great Plains
    • Mountain – Microsoft Dynamics 365
    • Central – TCR, Sage
