Job description

The Director of Information Technology will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of CBC USA’s technology strategy, infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity, and IT operations.

As one of the key leaders supporting a new manufacturing operation, this position will have the opportunity to build the IT function and technology environment from the ground up. The Director of IT will serve as the primary leader for the company’s ERP environment, including the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of SAP and other critical systems supporting manufacturing, supply chain, finance, quality, human resources, and operations.

This role will partner closely with executive leadership and functional leaders to ensure technology solutions support operational excellence, cybersecurity and compliance requirements, scalability, and long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute CBC USA’s IT strategy in alignment with business objectives, manufacturing requirements, and future growth.
  • Build scalable IT capabilities, processes, governance, and standards to support a greenfield manufacturing operation.
  • Serve as a strategic technology partner to executive leadership and functional leaders across the organization.
  • Develop and manage IT budgets, capital expenditures, contracts, vendor relationships, and technology investments.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT team as the organization grows.

ERP & Enterprise Systems

  • Lead the implementation, deployment, optimization, and continuous improvement of SAP ERP solutions.
  • Lead ERP project teams, consultants, implementation partners, and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and support manufacturing technology platforms, including ERP, MES, WMS, quality systems, EDI, and plant-floor technologies.
  • Ensure enterprise applications are effectively integrated and aligned with operational and business requirements.
  • Support data analytics, reporting, and business intelligence capabilities to improve organizational decision-making.

Infrastructure & IT Operations

  • Oversee IT infrastructure, network operations, cloud environments, end-user technology, and technical support.
  • Establish reliable, secure, and scalable technology infrastructure for manufacturing and business operations.
  • Develop business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Establish IT governance, policies, procedures, standards, and service-management practices.
  • Manage external technology vendors, consultants, service providers, and strategic partners.

Business Partnership

  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, and executive leadership to identify technology needs and implement effective solutions.
  • Translate business and manufacturing requirements into practical technology strategies and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, systems integration, and data to improve productivity, efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement across technology systems and processes.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Lead CBC USA’s cybersecurity strategy, controls, policies, and risk-management practices.
  • Develop and maintain the systems, controls, documentation, and processes necessary to support Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements.
  • Support compliance with applicable cybersecurity frameworks and contractual requirements, including NIST SP 800-171 and other Department of Defense requirements.
  • Partner with business leaders, external consultants, implementation partners, and other stakeholders to support cybersecurity assessments, audits, remediation activities, and continuous monitoring.
  • Promote cybersecurity awareness and accountability throughout the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive information technology experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading SAP or other enterprise ERP implementations, upgrades, or migrations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain, inventory management, production planning, and quality systems.
  • Experience managing enterprise applications and complex cross-functional technology projects.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, and IT service management.
  • Strong project management, vendor management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and develop practical solutions.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
  • Experience with MES, WMS, EDI, manufacturing automation, and plant-floor systems.
  • Experience building or significantly scaling an IT function within a greenfield, startup, or rapidly growing manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity and compliance frameworks such as CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), or ISO 27001.
  • Multi-site or global manufacturing experience.
  • PMP, SAP, ITIL, cybersecurity, or other relevant professional certifications.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position and/or move throughout an office and manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other standard office equipment and visually interpret information on electronic displays.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require, generally less than 10%.
