Sales Intern - Hotel Sales Department
Location: Hampton Inn/ Home2 Suites Austin East
Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: General Manager
Schedule: Part-Time (Flexible Hours Available)
Duration: [Example: 12-16 weeks / Semester-Based]
Position Summary
The Sales Intern will support the Sales Department with dailyadministrative and sales coordination tasks while gaining hands-on experiencein hospitality sales, marketing, and revenue generation. This role is designedto provide real-world exposure to hotel operations, client engagement, andbusiness development strategies. The intern will work closely with the SalesTeam to assist in driving group, corporate, and leisure business.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Administrative Support
  • Assist with responding to sales inquiries and client requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Support the preparation of proposals, contracts, and sales presentations
  • Maintain accurate client and account information in the CRM system
  • Assist with rooming lists, group blocks, and event details
  • Help coordinate site tours and client visits
  • Organize sales files and documentation

Marketing & Outreach
  • Assist with sales blitzes, prospecting calls, and lead generation efforts
  • Support email marketing campaigns and promotional outreach
  • Help create marketing materials, flyers, and social media content (if applicable)
  • Conduct market research on competitors and local business opportunities

Event & Group Coordination
  • Assist in the coordination of group arrivals and event logistics
  • Communicate with Operations teams to ensure successful execution of group stays and events
  • Support pre-arrival planning and post-event follow-ups

Internship Development & Learning Components (Added Responsibilities)
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings and strategy sessions
  • Shadow Sales Managers and Directors during client calls, site visits, and negotiations
  • Learn hotel revenue management basics including occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR
  • Gain exposure to brand sales systems and reporting tools
  • Complete assigned learning projects such as market analysis, sales reports, or outreach campaigns
  • Assist with quarterly goals tracking and performance metrics

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Hospitality, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related program (preferred)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with strong customer service focus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in hospitality sales, marketing, or hotel operations

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with CRM or hotel sales systems (Delphi, CI/TY, Salesforce, or similar) a plus
  • Social media or content creation experience is a bonus
