Job Description

Universal Television Entertainment is responsible for world-class television entertainment. The division programs and markets content across leading entertainment brands Bravo, NBC and Peacock, and produces over 3,000 hours of television annually through Universal Studio Group, the studio business comprised of Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios and Universal Television Alternative Studio. Together, these teams align NBCUniversal’s content and production expertise to inspire global audiences with television that entertains and shapes culture.

The Universal Studio Group (USG) Strategy and Business Development department is a highly visible function that works closely with USG senior management. The team is a key business partner to the Presidents of the Universal Television Studios, the Universal Television Entertainment senior leadership team, and broader Universal Entertainment executive leadership.

The group works on a wide range of strategic initiatives including identifying and assessing key growth opportunities, operating efficiencies and investments on behalf of the television studio group.
The USG Strategy and Business Development department seeks a highly qualified candidate for the position of Sr. Analyst, USG Strategy and Business Development. Specific projects will include market research, data analysis, financial modeling, and forming recommendations related to industry trends, internal business performance improvement, expansion opportunities, and M&A or strategic investments. The role will report to the VP of USG Strategy and Business Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate presentations for executive management on current USG business initiatives
  • Develop analyses and recommendations regarding the competitive landscape and manage associated models
  • Assist in building regular industry updates, competitor benchmarking, and other related presentations for USG senior leadership team
  • Generate ad-hoc analyses to answer critical and time-sensitive business questions and identify areas of strategic opportunity. 
  • Prepare material for USG executive presentations (e.g., Long Range Plans, Operational Reviews, Executive Talking points, etc.) and building/executing strategic plans and analyses
  • Assist in preparing financial models related to TV show financing, business development, and assessment of M&A opportunities
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives across the NBCUniversal portfolio, including evaluation of organic growth and M&A opportunities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant industry experience (strategic planning, management consulting, investment banking or corporate development, ideally in the entertainment industry)
  • Excellent quantitative & analytical skills, including significant financial and data modeling experience
  • Ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives to business unit managers and third parties
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver high quality, executive level presentations
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills: Comfort with rigorous modeling, scenario analysis, and data manipulation
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills: Expertise crafting visually clear, logically structured, and persuasive presentations for executive audiences
  • Impeccable attention to detail, with a consistent focus on accuracy and quality

Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
