JOB SUMMARY:

Intern will assist the Controls Engineering team and develop an understanding of Engineering commissioning support including troubleshooting, test and adjust period, and proper change documentation. Through documentation the intern will develop an understanding of presentations created from an Engineering and/or Business aspect. This will require the ability to properly document engineering systems that can be understood by a variety of audiences from Hourly to Exempt Team Members. Intern will learn the fundamentals for Control Systems from PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, Servo Motors, etc.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops Engineering drawings/documentation.
  • Creates PowerPoint presentations of technical data and for business planning.
  • Supports commissioning efforts for both Tech Services Engineering and Universal Creative Engineering; not limited to test witnessing, control system troubleshooting, and documentation creation to provide guidelines for the Tech Services Engineering team on how to support the new attractions over their life; to include lessons learned and best practices.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required. 
  • A transcript is required upon application.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Preferred majors include: B.S. Engineering and/or Engineering Technology - Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Computer Science.
  • Preferred coursework completed: Math; Electrical Systems; Engineering Design; Electrical Circuit.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2027.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
  • All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
