Job Description

In this role,ย you'llย create software that automatically generates 3D environments or objects. Instead of random designs, your software will use real-world data, such as maps or object details, to make these environments look more realistic. The output from your work will be compatible with popular 3D platforms like Unreal and Unity, or as standalone 3D models.ย

You'llย work closely with the Pipeline and AI/ML teams to plan and improve the way this 3D data flows through our production process, helping it fit well with game environments.ย

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:ย

  • Develop procedural generation techniques and software that are compatible with Unreal, Unity, and/or raw mesh output, fed by semantic data about the real world instead of random numbers.ย
  • Solve technical challenges to balance visual quality, realism, andย performanceย in modern game engines, on commodity hardware.ย
  • Contribute to the Pipeline and AI/ML teams' design andย road mappingย process to fine-tune a game environment-compatible data pipeline.ย
  • Partner closely with leadership to understand the high-level product visionย
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:ย

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related fieldย
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant industry experience for Senior Game Specialist,ย ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment, demonstrating a proven track record of success and leadership in the gaming industry.ย
  • Experience with Houdini, Unreal Engine, Unity, or other similar game engines, including proficiency in developing interactive applications, optimizing performance, and implementing real-time 3D graphics and gameplay features.ย
  • Extensive experience with procedural generation tools such as Houdini, Unreal Engine's PCG (Procedural Content Generation), and/or Blender is highly preferred.ย
  • Proficient in C++, with a solid understanding of their respective ecosystems and the ability to leverage these languages for software development, scripting, and automation tasks.ย

Desired Characteristics:ย

  • Experience with Houdini, Unreal PCG, and/or Blender procedural generation applications is highly preferred.ย
  • Enthusiasm for automated development processes and systems.ย

Additional Requirements:ย

Fully Remote:ย This position has beenย designatedย as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from aย non-NBCUniversalย worksite, most commonly an employee's residence.ย

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Learn more about the benefits offered by NBCUniversal by visiting the Benefits page of the Careers website. Salary range: $130,000 - $155,000.ย

We are accepting applications for this position on an ongoing basis.ย
