About the Role

Kitsap Credit Union is in search of a Branch Manager to oversee our Bremerton Harborside Branch. The Branch Manager is responsible for managing and administering the operational efforts of the Branch in support of the Credit Union’s strategic plan. This position ensures that established policies and procedures are followed. Oversees provision of a full range of services to members and prospective members and fosters a sales-oriented culture. Ensures that members are promptly and professionally served in a manner that enhances the Credit Union’s reputation.

Salary Range: $81.170.08 - $97,795.28 depending on experience

Bonus Target: 7% potential incentive of base pay

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensures the achievement of Branch goals with regards to sales, service, safety, security, and compliance. Responsible for quality, quantity, accuracy, and timeliness of work produced by branch employees.
  • Proactively generates new loans, share growth, and membership business through branch sales activities, networking with local businesses, and participation in community events.
  • Promotes and fosters a sales and service culture. Conducts regular quality control observations to promote continuous improvement and quality member service.
  • Builds market position by locating, developing and closing business relationships.
  • Analyzes and identifies member needs and effectively promotes and cross-sells products and services while ultimately achieving an acceptable level of production based on goals and objectives.
  • Ensures adequate performance controls are in place to manage and mitigate risk.
  • Ensures the safety and security of Credit Union employees, property, and member information according to Credit Union guidelines.
  • Ensures that employees are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs. Completes orientation of new employees in overall Branch procedures. Performs cross training as necessary.
  • Provides leadership through effective goal setting and communication. Supervises Branch employees ensuring that high quality work and efficiency in operations are maintained. Determines work methods and flow through assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks.
  • Ability to analyze staffing needs to ensure employees are best utilized during peak and slow times.
  • Conducts regular meetings with employees to inform and train. Discusses areas needing improvement and changes in procedures. Conducts regular meetings with Branch management to coordinate activities.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members. Ensures members’ requests and questions are promptly resolved. Handles members’ complaints. Makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Provides reports and analytics as necessary to ensure the success of achieving Credit Union goals and objectives.
  • Actively contributes in the area of continuous quality improvement, solicits and contributes new ideas and methods to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of processes and procedures.
  • Educates team on self-service and assisted self-serve options, with continual education as new products and digital services are introduced. Ensures adherence to established security procedures and reporting requirements and that employees comply with established procedures and practices. Keeps branch security system in good working order, including maintaining the proper levels of working cash and reserve cash. Addresses areas of concern and updates management with any discrepancies as necessary.
  • Responsible for notifying appropriate individuals when maintenance issues become evident with Credit Union equipment including ATM’s
  • Advises management of situations that could potentially be detrimental to efficient operating practices.
  • Ensures that the Credit Union’s quality reputation is maintained and projected. Ensures the professional appearance and good housekeeping practices within the branch.

          Qualifications and Education Requirements

          • High School Diploma or GED required. Additional coursework in business or finance preferred. 
          • Minimum of three years related work experience required.
          • Previous sales experience in a similar organization preferred with a proven track record of achieving sales goals.
          • Previous supervisory experience required.
          • Must be able to work Saturdays and extended business hours.
          • Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System within 30 days of hire and comply with the SAFE Act regulations

          Supervisory Status 

          This position supervises others and is responsible for being results oriented, collaborative, delegating effectively, and embracing the organization’s core values, ensuring team effectiveness.

          Working Conditions

          This position will be required to work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:

          • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 75% of the time
          • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines
          • The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, supervisors, vendors and employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions
          • Works in an indoor office environment but expected to attend meetings in buildings that require travel in outdoor weather conditions
          • Must be able to work additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
          • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of members and the Credit Union.
          • Vision (or corrected) to normal range.
          • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a variety of standard office equipment.
          • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
