The Member Advisor I provides exceptional service with in-branch member transactions, account relationships, and lending. Acts as a resource to members, educating them on products and services to improve their financial wellbeing. Responsible for processing transactions, opening new accounts, establishing lending relationships and identifying ways to optimize members' credit union experience.
Essential Duties:
  • Actively work towards established product and services goals, and maintaining production and quality standards consistent with the Member Advisor I role.
  • Maintain an excellent knowledge of the features and benefits of Credit Union services and products, as well as eligibility for Credit Union membership.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and transfers via counter, mail, and phone, while assisting members with inquiries or issues to resolve account errors, ensuring accuracy in research and compliance with cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Open new accounts, build relationships with members using established member onboarding standards, and effectively cross-sell Credit Union products and services.
  • Accept and accurately process account and loan requests in accordance with established Credit Union guidelines. Demonstrate timeliness and accuracy in loan and account documentation.
  • Conduct daily quality assurance and sales calls to engage with members and promote the use of Credit Union services.
  • Use skillful interview techniques to uncover member needs and wants and successfully close sales.
  • Build and maintain Book of Business (BOB) through regular member contact. Use established relationships to determine services or special promotions specifically benefitting members included in BOB.
  • Promote an environment of respect, teamwork, and collaboration; act in a way consistent with Credit Union Operating Principles and the Retail Service Level Agreement.
  • Maintain Vault balancing and cash operations knowledge.
  • Assist members with account questions or issues, including research and correction of errors, while promptly and efficiently handling direct, phone, or written inquiries from members or staff.
  • Support member outreach efforts by actively participating in outbound calls to members.
  • Perform Xpress, Tickler, branch and Notary audits.
  • Actively participate in branch activities and sales meetings to achieve service and sales goals.
  • Adapt to evolving member needs and effectively navigate change, demonstrating a strong commitment to organizational goals. Proactively support business initiatives by embracing new processes, technologies, and service strategies to enhance team performance and member experience.
  • May handle safe deposit box duties, if applicable to branch location. Provide prompt and efficient handling of direct, phone, or written inquiries or requests from members or other staff. Prepare all necessary safe deposit box documentation, including payment notices, according to the policies and procedures of the Credit Union. Reconcile Safe Deposit Box general ledger accounts.
  • Adhere to standard security procedures, including safe deposit security. Attend all mandatory robbery and security training. Validate robbery and bomb threat packets are up-to-date and available at work station.
  • Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position and understand and comply with government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act and related regulations.
  • Actively participate and fulfill expectations in the Credit Union Email Security Awareness Program as outlined in the Information Security Program Acknowledgement document.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED
Additional Details:
Branch Hours: Monday through Friday 9:30am to 5:30pm. Saturdays 9:30am to 2:00pm. Closed Sundays.
Location: Battle Ground Branch - 1810 SW 9th Avenue. Battle Ground, WA 98604
Position Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Compensation: At iQ Credit Union, we are committed to transparency in our compensation program. The hourly range for this position is $22.30 - $30.11, with a target rate of $24.00 per hour. The target rate reflects our typical starting pay for candidates who demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully meet the requirements of the role.
Target Rates for all levels:
Member Advisor I: $24 per hour
Member Advisor II: $26 per hour
Member Advisor III: $28.25 per hour
