Now Hiring: Transportation Specialist
The Transportation Specialist serves as an over-the-road truck driver for Farmers Union Logistics, Ltd., a transportation logistics company delivering food and food ingredients to the East Coast. This position also includes driving motor coach for educational and vacation tours, making it a unique opportunity to travel while supporting Farmers Union's mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Over-the-road truck driving to deliver food and food ingredient products from the Midwest to the east coast.
  • Drive a 56-passenger motor coach, including transporting vacation tours, regional educational trips and delivering children to summer camps.
  • Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Provide clear and proactive communication, ensuring all business requirements are understood and being met.
  • Maintain all DOT requirements for coach busses and over-the-road trucks.
  • Work with team to maintain all DOT requirements and complete all necessary regulatory driver reports.
  • Take accountability in ensuring each job is being completed to the requirements communicated and drive results through others.

Motor Coach Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Must hold a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements. License must meet all operational and insurance eligibility requirements; certain restrictions may affect eligibility for this position.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age with at least 2 years of CDL experience
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently during loading and unloading.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective communication skills, written and oral.
  • Proficient computer skills including computer reservation systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to interact, communicate and negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to positively respond and adjust to constructive feedback.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Visual and hearing acuity, in accordance with federal regulations which mandate that truck drivers have to hear a forced whisper at 5 feet, have at least 20/40 vision, a 70-degree field of vision and the ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lights.
