This role provides exceptional customer service while supporting daily branch operations through account servicing, transaction processing, cash handling, and sales of bank products and services. The position ensures compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and security procedures while maintaining accurate records and fostering positive customer relationships.

Service deposit accounts by performing account openings, closures, renewals, and maintenance activities.


Essential Job Requirements

  • Process customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, cashier’s checks, and money orders.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in person and by phone while delivering exceptional customer service and assist with special requests, including check orders, statement requests, and assigned projects.
  • Review checks for negotiability, including endorsements, dates, legality, and document origination and complete required documentation, transaction records, daily scanning, and Bank Secrecy Act reporting.
  • Promote and cross-sell bank products and services while accurately completing related applications and documentation and explain regulatory disclosures, bank policies, and product information to customers.
  • Balance and reconcile cash drawers, maintain cash limits, and accurately process currency and coin transactions.
    Support branch operations, including ATM balancing and maintenance, branch opening and closing procedures, and assisting management as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with bank policies, security procedures, dual-control requirements, information security guidelines, and funds availability policies.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Protect customer confidentiality and maintain discretion in all interactions.
Requirements:

Qualifications, Experience, and Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of cash handling and customer service experience, preferably in a Teller role.
  • Strong computer, mathematical, and customer service skills and operational knowledge of computers, printers, and banking-related equipment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and ability to maintain confidentiality and customer trust.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, policies, and procedures and ability to balance cash and reconcile transactions accurately.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and escalate unusual situations to management when appropriate.
